    What you’ll need

    • Mason jar and fairy lights

    Add a warm cosy feel to your home with this super easy mason jar fairy lights DIY. It’s so easy, it doesn’t need a tutorial! You can use any jar or vase you like as well, depending on the length of your fairy lights. Put it amongst your other Christmas decorations for a wintery festive feel.

    DIY Upcycled Christmas Gnomes

    What you’ll need

    • Plastic bottle, scrap fabric, felt fabric, cotton filling, a wooden bead, scissors, and a glue gun.

    How

    1. Cut your fabric big enough to cover the entire bottle.
    2. Fill the bottle with sand, to give it some weight, and tie a knot at the neck.
    3. To create the hat, cut a triangle out of the felt material, cut the edge slightly rounded. The high must be 9 inches and the triangle's base must be 11 inches. Apply glue to one end, wrap the triangle to form the hat shape, and then attach the opposite edges.
    4. To create a long beard, glue some cotton to the front.
    5. Put the hat on top of the bottle and attach it to the gnome's body with a few dots of glue. To finish, glue a bead to the centre to create the gnome's nose.

    What you’ll need

    • Felt fabric (42CM will make 2 stockings), scissors, hot glue gun and glue, pins, any paper, a marker, and decorations.

    How

    1. Draw an outline of a stocking on your paper and cut it out, then fold your felt in half and pin the stocking in place.
    2. Cut out your stocking by cutting around your template. Glue your two pieces of felt together. Remember, don’t glue the top closed! 
    3. Turn your stocking inside out, then glue on your decorations.

    Dried Orange Christmas Garlands

    What you’ll need

    • 2-3 oranges, scissors, twine or string, yarn needle or a skewer and a toothpick, and baking paper.

    How

    1. Preheat oven to 75°C (170°F). Slice oranges into 4-5 mm thick slices.
    2. Place the slices in a single layer on a baking sheet covered with baking paper.
    3. Bake for 4-6 hours or until completely dry, opening the oven door every now and then to let out steam. Flip the slices several times during baking (it may take longer than 6 hours, if you slice the oranges thicker, or if they are very juicy.)
    4. Let the slices dry in room temperature overnight.
    5. Poked holes in the slices using a skewer and thread the twine through the slices leaving a two inch gap between each slice.

    • Any colour balloons of your choice, strong adhesive glue (heat from a glue gun might pop the balloon), ruler, X-acto knife, any colour balloon, 12x12" glitter or metallic cardstock paper (silver or gold), thin ribbon (optional).

    How

    1. Blow up your Orbz balloon. Make sure are no creases and ensure its round. 
    2. Cut the cardstock paper into 4- 3" strips. 
    3. Take one of the 3" strips and cut into 3 even strips. Each strip will be about 1" in width.
    4. Roll each of the 3" strips until the ends overlap about 1". Glue the overlapped ends to each other. 
    5. Depending on the length desired for the handle of the ornament top, cut and size the 1" strips. Glue it to the ends on the inside of the 3" rolled strips. 
    6. Using the hot glue, adhere the ornament top to the orb balloon over the tail end of the balloon.

    What you’ll need

    • 5 tree branches, 2 metres of thin rope, and a glue gun.

    How

    1. Lay your rope in a shape you want your tree to be.
    2. Break your branches to the right size with the smallest being on top. You can use more branches if you want a bigger tree.
    3. Glue the rope to your branches.
    4. Once dry, hang it up and use a star to cover the wall hook. Glue any ornaments you like, but make sure they aren’t too heavy, and add fairy lights as a finishing touch.

    How

    1. Trace out a Christmas tree on the felt fabric and cut it out.
    2. Fold the tree gently in half, be careful not to press down or it’ll create a line, and cut two slits in the middle. Unfold.

    How

    • Twine, wrapping paper, leaves from your backyard, hot glue gun.

    1. Wrap your christmas present as you normally would.

    • Egg cartons, string lights, and paint.

    How

    1.  Cut out all of the individual egg cups and cut a V shape at each of the four corners.
    2. Round off the pointed edges to create rounded petals, and start painting it any colour you like. 
    3. Poke a hole in the middle from the bottom and place it over the lightbulb. Repeat until all your lightbulbs are covered.
